Infra Eco Logi Urbanism, a traveling solo exhibition of urban research and design work by the practice of Associate Professor Geoffrey Thün and Assistant Professor Kathy Velikov, rvtr, is opening August 25th and will run until November 20th 2014 at the Yale University Paul Rudolph Hall Exhibition Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut.

The exhibition assembles a multivalent project that interrogates the agency of design in shaping the future of regionally-scaled urban systems, infrastructures and architectures in the context of new energy landscapes, intensifying urbanizations, and the emergence of megaregions. The content includes extensive regional cartographies and analyses, design propositions, historical research, photography, and critical writings. A projected future development for the Great Lakes Megaregion of North America is the situational subject within which a speculative design project aims to reconceptualize future urban ecologies, cross-border governance, politics, infrastructure and public architecture.

The work of Infra Eco Logi Urbanism has been supported by a 2009-2012 Research/Creation grant from the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), and support for the exhibition preparation supported by a 2013-2013 University of Michigan OVPR (now UMOR) Artistic Productions and Presentations Grant.

Significant contributions to the research project and exhibition have been made by Lecturer Dan McTavish (M.Arch.'13), Mary O’Malley (M.Arch.'10), Adam Smith (M.Arch.'12), Lisa Sauvé (M.Arch.'12), Charles Guerry (M.Arch.'13) and Zain AbuSeir (M.Arch.'09).
